Dental Implants in Corpus Christi, TX

Dealing with missing teeth is important to the overall wellness and appearance of the smile. To allow individuals to effectively move past extracted or lost teeth, Dr. Kenneth Haynes and Dr. Mance Cutbirth at Corpus Christi Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons are extremely happy to offer high-quality dental implants to accomplish tooth replacement. A fixed implant is a sturdy post that serves as an artificial tooth root. A custom crown, bridge, or denture can then be attached and take the place of the visible part of the missing tooth (or several teeth). If you have missing teeth or need a tooth removal, schedule a visit at our Corpus Christi, TX office and discover your dental implant alternatives.

The surgical approach for oral implants includes the careful placement of the implant and the securing of a natural-looking dental restoration (such as full-arch dentures, crowns, and bridges). As soon as the area is prepared for surgery, it will be dulled with local anesthesia. Oral-conscious or IV sedation may be available to allow you to feel more comfortable during your visit. The fixed implant will be surgically placed within your jawbone at the proper location and given a period of time to become one with the jaw through a phenomenon called osseointegration. When the treatment area has totally recovered (often at least 6 months afterward), a custom fixed crown, denture, or full-arch restoration will be placed.

After dental implant surgery, patients may experience minor swelling, bruising, and pain around the implant site. Dr. Haynes or Dr. Cutbirth may provide pain medication, but over-the-counter options and ice packs can also help manage any discomfort. Once the titanium post has fused with your jawbone and the custom restoration is in place, it's important to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing daily. During a follow-up appointment at Corpus Christi Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, we will use special tools to check your dental implants and overall oral health.

Dental implants are usually preferred due to the vast number of advantages they offer. As an effective tooth replacement option, dental implants:

  • May enhance your confidence when speaking and any time you show your teeth
  • Allow for the adaptation of a diverse diet
  • Will not rely on adjacent teeth for stability
  • Effective as a long-term tooth replacement alternative
  • Offer greater chewing strength and lifespan of tooth restorations
  • Connect with the jawbone to maintain jaw well-being and structure
  • Function like real teeth in performance and appearance

Dr. Haynes is one of the best surgeons I have ever encountered in my 58 years of living. Performed bone implants on my uppers using my bone from my lower jaw. Amazing Doctor with integrity and outstanding care with virtually no pain at all or side affects. Awesome staff and by far, one of the best surgeons I have ever had. No infections, minimized pain, and great post treatment plan.

Had 2 teeth removed and titanium implants put in on March 24,2026.Dr. Cutbirth DDS MD put me to sleep at 8:30 am with an IV and woke me up at 9:30 am. Procedures were completed. It was great for me,no stress because I didn't know what was happening. I am 77 years young. Very little pain in the following few days. Went for 1 week check up and everything was healing fine. I would recommend Dr. Cutbirth and his staff to anyone. He explains what is going to happen during surgery, prior to your surgery, and also explains after care when you wake up . He makes the procedure less stressful.

Individuals in good general and oral health who have lost one or more teeth are typically good candidates for dental implants. Ideal candidates should have sufficient bone density in their jaw to support the implant. If bone loss has occurred, bone grafting procedures can often make dental implants an option. Candidates should also be free from active periodontal disease. During your consultation at Corpus Christi Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr. Haynes or Dr. Cutbirth will thoroughly evaluate your oral health, discuss your medical history, and determine if dental implants are the right solution for you.

Are dental implants permanent?

Yes, dental implants are designed to be a long-lasting solution. With proper care, they can last 20 years or more, often a lifetime.

How do I care for dental implants?

Care for implants just like natural teeth — brush twice a day, floss daily, and see your dentist regularly. Good oral hygiene is crucial to prevent complications.

What if I don't have enough bone for an implant?

You may need a bone graft to build up the jawbone before placing the implant. Your dentist or oral surgeon will determine if this is necessary.

As a result of the progress made in dental services, there is now an array of options for the treatment of tooth loss. Implants offer realistic visual appeal and numerous functional abilities. Dr. Haynes and Dr. Cutbirth are pleased to offer implant-based restorative solutions as durable tooth replacements to Corpus Christi, TX patients.
